ICElab 2012  I'll be collaborating with members of the International Contemporary Ensemble and The Troupe to create a new, evening work piece for ensemble and dance.  Updates coming soon on the ICE website!

The Collected, a bi-costal music collective comprised of Brent Miller, Adam Fong, Denise Gilson, and myself working to create and promote new music.  New projects include group concerts with new works for Eric km Clark and the Navitas Ensemble.

I'm presently working on a new piece for the amazing California E.A.R. Unit to be premiered as part of the 2011-2012 Season.  Details coming soon!

And my newest collaborative sculpture project, a proposal with Steven Pierce and Aaron Good to build an installation of intertwining spirals and amplified resonating sculptures in the desert. Eadem Mutata Resurgo

performances 2012

June 23, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. ~ Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe.  Santa Fe New Music will be presenting my piece called "Music Painted from Memory" for violin and 'cello.  This will be part of their Southwest Festival of New Music, featuring a commissioned new work by Christian Wolff, and music by emerging composers Nathan Davis and Chris Marianetti, and Santa Fe composer and sound artist David Dunn.  

June 22, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. ~ Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe.  Santa Fe New Music will be presenting my new work, Alchemy II.  Information can be found at the Southwest Festival of New Music website.

May 25, 2012 at 10:00 p.m. ~ The Stone in NYC.  Dither  will be playing my work Aphonia (from "Cross-Sections") along with a cycle by Jascha Narveson entitled "Ones," "Dreaming of Vermonth" by Josh Lopes, and more!

March 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. ~ Sprague Hall (470 College St) in New Haven.  Dither will be playing my piece Prolix as part of the Seventh Yale Guitar Extravaganza.  Also on the concert will be some of my favorite nyc composers: Paula Matthusen, Eve Beglarian, Jascha Narveson, and Josh Lopes.  This promises to be a really cool concert and fun for any electric guitar fan.  Please come out if you are in the area!

March 22, 2012 ~ Southwestern University.  The final stop on Owen Weaver's Texas tour, he plays my Percussion Sculpture No. 1 along with work by Ian Dicke and Tristan Perich.  It looks to be a really lovely finale!

March 21, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. ~ University of Texas San Antonio.  Continuing his Texas tour with the new "electro-percussion show" that includes my Percussion Sculpture No. 1, Owen Weaver will play at UT San Antonio and also give a short talk on commissioning and collaborating with composers.

March 18, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. ~ Texas Lutheran University (Seguin, TX).  Owen Weaver will play my Percussion Sculpture No. 1 at TLU with work by Tristan Perich and Performance by Line Upon Line Percussion, TLU Percussion, and UT Percussion.

March 16, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. ~ SXSW Creekside / Hilton Garden Inn (500 North IH 35). Owen Weaver will be playing my Percussion Sculpture No 1 at the Official South by Southwest Showcase for Nonclassical Records.  He's also doing a ton of other great stuff, including work by the ever awesome Tristan Perich, so if you're going to be at SXSW, please check it out!

March 10, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. ~ Wilde Auditorium, University of Hartford.  The California E.A.R. Unit will premiere a new work I composed for them as part of my Fellowship at the Hartt School.  This amazing group will also be performing works by other members of the Hartt Community and is free and open to the public.  More information can be found here.

March 7, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. ~ Chase Family Gallery in the Mandell JCC, Hartford.  Owen Weaver will be performing a new structured improvisation on my "Sculpture No. 1," a welded and amplified percussion instrument I created in 2007.  This performance will be part of the 12th Annual Women Composers Festival of Hartford.  Please come join us if you're in the Hartford area!

February 18, 2012 at 3 p.m. ~ Baryshnikov Arts Center in NYC.  ICE and The Troupe will give a special preview of our new work for dance following our residency at BAC.  This will be a one-time-only peek before our premiere in the fall.  

February 13-18, 2012 ~ Baryshnikov Arts Center in NYC.  I will be in a week-long residency with the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) and The Troupe.  We'll be working on our new evening-length collaborative work for dance in the lovely BAC Workshop.

January 26, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. ~ (le) Poisson Rouge in NYC.  Dither Electric Guitar Quartet will perform excerpts from my 2008 piece "Cross-Sections" along with great music by Eve Beglarian, Jascha Narveson, and Travis Just.  Details and ticket information can be found here.

October 17, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. ~ Miller Theatre in NYC.  The SONIC Festival (Sounds of a New Century) has programmed my piece Prolix to be played by Dither Electric Guitar Quartet as part of their 2011 line-up.  More information can be found here.

September 28, 2011 at9:00 p.m. ~ Navitas Ensemble at the Subterranean Arthouse in San Francisco.  This fantastic duo will be playing my piece for duo and video called "Music Painted from Memory," along with other great new pieces by members of The Collected.  More information can be found here.

September 9, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. ~ Violin Futura Project.  Piotr Szewczyk will perform at the H Douglas Lee Chapel at Stetson University in Florida.  He will be playing my piece "Coming Undone," as well as other winners of the 2009 Violin Futura score call.  More info can be found here.

September 2, 7:30 p.m. ~ James Moore performs as part of the Music at First Series.  The talented Mr. Moore will play my 2009 work, "A Quiet Struggle," for solo, amplified resonator guitar, among other cool pieces and works performed by the lovely Kathy Supove.  More info here.

July 8, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. ~ Invisible Dog Gallery, Brooklyn.  The acclaimed electric guitar quartet Dither announces the 2011 Invisible Dog Extravaganza!  They'll be playing my piece Prolix, along with works by Phil Niblock, Josh Lopes, Corey Dargel, and Travis Just.  Also performing that evening will be Marc Ribot, So Percussion, Ches Smith and These Arches, R We Who R We, Lesley Flanigan, Nathan Koci, and Paula Matthusen.  Admission is only $6 and there will be lots of beer from Brooklyn Brewery!  More information here.

June 24, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. ~ Meridian Gallery, San Francisco.  Eric km Clark will play new works and somewhat less new works by The Collected Members.  Special guests: Navitas Ensemble.  More information at Meridian Gallery.

May 26, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. ~ Tribeca New Music Festival II at Merkin Hall.  Dither will be playing my piece Entropion along with works by Tristan Perich and Stephen Griesgraber.  They'll also be sharing the bill with the always exciting Redhooker.  Tickets can be purchased here.

April 2, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. ~ Music with a View at The Flea in New York City.  My new piece for amplified percussion sculpture will be premiered by Taylor Levine as part of Kathy Supove's exciting series in conjunction with The Flea.  I feel very fortunate to be presenting this work as part of the new festival format of the Music with a View series.  Also on the April 2nd program will by a large-scale work by Lukas Ligeti.

March 3-5, 2011 ~ Other Minds Festival 16 will premier a new, 20-minute work for the Navitas Ensemble as part of my Composer Fellowship with the Festival.  It is an honor to be included in the lovely 2011 line-up of this cutting edge festival.  A list of the other participating composers and the full schedule can be found on the Other Minds website.

February 18, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. ~ Dither Quartet at Issue Project Room (New York).  Dither will be playing several new works by Brent Miller, Adam Fong and Denise Gilson of The Collected (our bi-costal experimental music collective) as well as a piece or two that I wrote for their 2010 album Dither.  Dither is comprised of four amazing musicians who will be premiering several new works from a recent Dither/Collected collaboration.

February 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. ~ Machine Project in Echo Park (Los Angeles).  The Little William Festival with the Machine Project are doing some of my work along with a few other participants from this year's festival.  These are fun, out, playful and cool miniature duets written by a really broad range of composers and commissioned for performances to audiences of TWO in the Hammer Museum.  This will be the wrap up event for this year's project and should be a good time for all.
