March 16, 2024 - Salle Multimédia de l'École de Musique Schulich de L'Université McGill, (Montreal, CA) at 7:30 pm. Between Feathers will perform the Multimedia version of Essay 1: Mater (written for them in summer of 2023) as part of La Semaine Du Neuf, an amazing international festival featuring some of the most innovative and exciting artists in contemporary music. I continue to be blown away by the creative and thoughtful programs by Between Feathers and their deeply musical interpretations of mine and others' works. March 16, 2024 - MOXsonic Hart Recital Hall at 6:00 pm. Shanna Pranaitis is performing Chimera's Garden (which she premiered in 2022) to MOXsonic on a concert with Eric Honor, John Gibson, Blaise Ubaldini, and Alexandria Smith. The awesome Missouri Experimental Sonic Arts Festival takes place annually right outside Kansas City Missouri and is hosted by the University of Central Missouri Center for Music Technology. It's a great group of humans making cool art, so please come hang out if you are in KC in March!

March 12, 2024 - Dalton Recital Hall, Western Michigan University at 7:30 pm. The Austrian-based new music ensemble Between Feathers is playing the multimedia version of "Essay 1: Mater," at Dalton Recital Hall as part of their U.S./Canada tour. The multimedia version of this work was created for them and they bring it to life in a way I couldn't have even hoped for when composing it. I feel so grateful that they are including it on their imaginative and multidimensional programs.
January 2024 - New Album Release! Koshkil Records (Madrid) just released "Melds Part 1 - Ancestors and Aliens" by the NODES Project. I have such deep respect for these imaginative musicians, and am grateful that they recorded my epic Narrative Environment Work she/storm for this album. Please check out this projects with some of the heavy hitters in jazz collaborating with an innovative electroacoustic musician: Andrew Rathbun (Saxophone); Christopher Biggs (Live Electronics); John Hébert (Bass): Keith Hall (Drums).

October 15, 2023 - Neue Music in St. Ruprecht, Vienna. Between Feathers is performing my new multimedia version of "Essay 1: Mater" at Neue Musik in St. Ruprecht in October. This brilliant group is serving as Artist in Residence at the oldest church in Vienna, Austira. They are also premiering new works by Cordula Bösze and Alexander J. Eberhard! I'm looking forward to hearing what these thoughtful artists do with my most recent narrative environment work - please come join us if you are in Vienna!

Tiny Worlds is happening as part of the amazing international Earth Day Art Model - the yearly event brings together science, art, and sound collaboratively in broad and interesting ways. I'm thrilled to announce that the Center for New Music in San Francisco has invited me out for two-month solo gallery show in July and August in their Window Gallery. The exhibit - Sounding Structures - includes a new five-panel eight-foot tall narrative environment score, videos of three recent narrative environment scores, the physical score for Chimera's Garden, and the Singing Wall (a six-foot by twelve-foot sounding sculpture in three parts created in collaboration with Steven Pierce). Talented young African-American and Latinx instrumentalists receive lessons and mentorship from GRSO performers, collaborative opportunities, experiences composing/creating, and chances to perform together through the lovely outreach endeavor by the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra called the Mosaic Scholars Program. I am so excited to go work with these young artists; after my presentation I'll lead the students through a workshop to create their own narrative-based works, which we'll play at the end of the session. If you are a young musician of color in the Grand Rapids area, I hope you will consider applying to be a part of this awesome program!

I'm excited to work with Steven Taylor and the wonderful musicians in the ensemble on this work from 2014.

Spektral Quartet will be playing the first movement of our collaboration, The Space Between, as part of their Once More With Feeling series at Constellation. This piece combines installation, choreography, and contemporary sound art into an integrated work under the direction of Mark DeChiazza. At this remarkable series, we will perform the piece twice, once at the beginning of the evening, and then again following a discussion with the audience. As this is a work-in-progress, the audience feedback may even influence the final piece as we move into the production of the full evening-length work! New Release! My Music Painted from Memory was featured in the score of the incredible new short KRISHA, by Trey Edward Shults. March 10, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. ~ Wilde Auditorium, University of Hartford. The California E.A.R. Unit will premiere a new work I composed for them as part of my Fellowship at the Hartt School. Owen Weaver will be performing a new structured improvisation on my "Sculpture No. 1," a welded and amplified percussion instrument I created in 2007. Also performing that evening will be Marc Ribot, So Percussion, Ches Smith and These Arches, R We Who R We, Lesley Flanigan, Nathan Koci, and Paula Matthusen. I feel very fortunate to be presenting this work as part of the new festival format of the Music with a View series. Also on the April 2nd program will by a large-scale work by Lukas Ligeti.

Dither will be playing several new works by Brent Miller, Adam Fong and Denise Gilson of The Collected (our bi-costal experimental music collective) as well as a piece or two that I wrote for their 2010 album Dither. Dither is comprised of four amazing musicians who will be premiering several new works from a recent Dither/Collected collaboration.

The Little William Festival with the Machine Project are doing some of my work along with a few other participants from this year's festival. These are fun, out, playful and cool miniature duets written by a really broad range of composers and commissioned for performances to audiences of TWO in the Hammer Museum.
